Lollipops a Bloomin'

My father told me that his grandmother, Minnie, used to make quilts. They were not art, he assured me, just made up of snippets of old clothes , so as not to waste fabric and used to keep warm. He remembers one, he says, all in grays and blacks and plaids. Not art, he says, not meant to be beautiful. Sounds like beauty to me. Maybe even art...

I will just stand back in awe. I haven't even attempted to do a curve yet (I'm still tackling squares here) and circles seem like they would be the ultimate challenge. Great job!
I love circles on quilts... whether they are grapes by the thousands, or a few lollipops like yours. I'm working on an invention that makes circle making fast and easy. I think you'll like it when it's done!

Hi Martha: I have just indulged myself by reading all your blog entries. Your artistic vision and versatility just blows me away and leaves me amazed - your artistry even shows in the "look" of your pages and the skill you display as a photographer - your creativity pushes me as I approach the New Year's resolution I have made to set aside at least 2 days a week for my own projects - I am a fulltime custom quiltmaker and have been frustrated that I have so little time for my own fulfillment.
Thanks for being here in blogland and helping to push along my own creatibe goals!!!
Blessings for a happy holiday season.
