Summer in the city

The recent, persistent rain has rendered our greens greener and in contrast, our fuscias brighter. Among the spring blossoms, Toby emerges, always dressed to the nines, on her walk around the neighborhood. She walks, swaying gently, on the arm of her son Arnold. I could not resist asking for a picture, as I am wont to do from time to time, when struck with the beauty of a well appointed woman, on a lovely spring day, out for an amble to enjoy the gentle delightful breeze.

soft pouch

Made for my camera. I cobbled it together yesterday from scraps. No pattern.
There are no hard parts to scratch and there is an extra layer of felt to pad. I am in search of a cloth frog button in the event that I can't figure out how to make one myself ;)

Tilde has create a FREE PATTERN!!! for these adorable totes, offered on Linda's website. Personally I am addicted to bags of all kinds and I hope to make one today, if not sooner. This is a great opportunity to go on over and download a free collection~ and use the free pattern to make a bag!
I am thinking a sewing kit sized bag might be nice....

and so I am beginning the border. There are 2500 of these little diamonds needing to be sewn together. Some are printed and sewn and even pressed and some do not yet exist in the actual world. They are in a state of preexistence, an apriori of quilted I find it strangely satisfying to sit and stitch these little bits. Like pulling up to a plate of cookies and a nice cold glass of milk. Hits the spot.

This lone tulip blooms in my yard every may. It springs up right in the midst of the lilac bush.
