Give Away--Jinny Beyer's Quilter's Album of Patchwork Patterns

a gift for Christmas! and a give away for you.
It seems that the order was doubled and Amazon told us not to return it so I am going to have a giveaway. It will involve a drawing and I would like to ask that you describe your favorite charity and then make a donation to it for the new year. It does not have to be money. It could be a meal to a less fortunate neighbor or a scarf knitted for the red scarf project, or a quilt donated to a shelter or the Quilts of Valor. Or you could even donate blood. It does not need to be a human charity-it could be for a nature preserve or an animal shelter.
And it will be on the honor system. I do not expect you to report back. I believe you will do the right thing. After all, are we not quilters?
My daughter will pick the winner. It may or may not be a random drawing but I think it may have to be in order to be fair. I will do the drawing on January One. Drawing will be from the comments here and my other blog. (see side bar)

one done

One block stitched and ready to be sent across the pond. It is six inches and the twin is on the ironing board ready to be stitched.
When I make these twin blocks I always send the more perfect one to my swap friend and keep the deformed for myself but this one looks pretty good so I may not have to wait and see if its sibling is prettier. Funny the dialog I have inside of my own head. Yes there are pencil marks and the back intersections are not beautiful and the seams allowances are not the same --see that is my inner critic. Maybe I will wait and see which one is more perfect after all. Or less horrible. Or betterer.

January Launch

Well I have made some progress on some six inch blocks B-1, Bachelors Buttons, A-5, Cathie's Campfire, Lady of the lake , (not DJ), K-2 Grandpa's Chickens-my way:), M-9, Fan Dance, over the course of the first couple of weeks. None are perfect but I do like the colors. I took the photo with my phone in indoor light so the colors are not a vibrant here as they really are. I think I need to add some light colors-maybe yellows and orang are next?
Other than that I am recuperating from a nasty one two punch of the physical ailment nature whose details I will not enumerate here. But I am left weak and tender. I am hoping to be better enough to go into work tomorrow, but I will wait until then to decide.
