Did a couple of threads on Pindingo today--early in the morning. It seems that my internal clock would rather me get up very early than me stay up late. So be it. I will quilt in the dawn rather than the twilight. I am doing the quilting in partial segments rather than all together. I find it easier and more relaxing not to have to wrestle it down before I stitch.
My father told me that his grandmother, Minnie, used to make quilts. They were not art, he assured me, just made up of snippets of old clothes , so as not to waste fabric and used to keep warm. He remembers one, he says, all in grays and blacks and plaids. Not art, he says, not meant to be beautiful. Sounds like beauty to me. Maybe even art...

Hi Martha,
ReplyDeleteIf you're Marth Lingberg, yours is the ONLY siggie I didn't get in the Christmas swap! I thought I had them all, but when I looked to find yours in the stack, I realized the checkmark was missing by your name. I hadn't noticed that before. I'll have to see if someone has a duplicate. If you're actually Martha Bilski, then your siggie is lovely and I particularly like your fabric choice!
I'm glad you liked my siggy. I hope you got one of the embellished ones. I really like your blog. I visit it often.
Sincerely,
Susan T.

ReplyDeleteHUGS!
