My father told me that his grandmother, Minnie, used to
make quilts. They were not art, he assured me, just made up of
snippets of old clothes , so as not to waste fabric and used to keep
warm. He remembers one, he says, all in grays and blacks and plaids.
Not art, he says, not meant to be beautiful.
Sounds like beauty to me. Maybe even art...

my hat
At least I amuse myself. It actually does look a little like my hat which is a soft brown knitted cap. I used a ball point pen and then added ink with a water brush and then changed the whole thing to sepia in my photo editing program. m
I think the texture is just wonderful. The ink and wash create quite a soft impression.

Yes -- it looks just like a hat, and a very soft, fuzzy, knitted hat at that. Well done!
ReplyDeleteLovely texture, warm and woolly, I bet this is your best friend on a chilly day.
